Apple's Rise Suggest Investors Focusing on AI Engagement -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/07/30 10:291029 GMT - Apple's approach toward a market valuation of $5 trillion suggests investors are looking beyond AI hardware providers to focus on engagement, Aegon's Jane Hepburne Scott writes. The shift in investor attention benefits Apple, given its advantage "has never been having the best AI model or the most advanced infrastructure base," the investment manager writes. Instead, Apple's strength lies in its enormous active customer base, she says. "Investors are paying greater attention to the companies best positioned to translate AI innovation into everyday user engagement." Apple briefly topped a $5 trillion market capitalization earlier this week. Shares slip 0.3% premarket ahead of the company's earnings after market close Thursday. (josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
