Norway’s public loan debt rose 4.4% year-on-year in June, with household loan growth edging up slightly.

⑴ By the end of June, Norway's public domestic loan debt had increased by 4.4% year-on-year to 8.01 billion Norwegian kroner, showing a slight slowdown from the 4.5% growth rate in the previous month. The growth rate of loans to non-financial enterprises fell from 4.3% in May to 4.1%, reaching 2.42 billion kroner; municipal loan growth declined from 4.6% to 3.7%, with a total amount of 800 billion kroner. ⑵ Household loan debt rose from 4.6% in May to 4.7%, reaching 4.76 billion kroner. Seasonally adjusted annualized data for the one-month period shows that the total public loan debt grew by 3.7%, slowing compared with the 4.9% growth rate the previous month.
