Tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) are rapidly gaining traction in the financial sector, but regulatory compliance continues to present a significant challenge for market participants. T-REX Network is attempting to address this problem with the development of its new T-REX Ledger, a compliance-focused infrastructure for digital securities built on Polygon’s Chain Development Kit (CDK) and Agglayer.

T-REX Ledger launches with Apex Group’s $100 billion commitment

T-REX Network reported the launch of the T-REX Ledger testnet, with the mainnet scheduled to go live in the fourth quarter of 2026. The platform aims to provide a compliance layer for tokenized securities, leveraging Polygon CDK to enable assets to move efficiently and securely across blockchain networks while meeting regulatory requirements.

Apex Group, a global financial services provider managing around $3.5 trillion in assets, has pledged to bring $100 billion in tokenized assets onto the T-REX Ledger by June 2027. The firm will serve as the network’s first on-chain transfer agent, tasked with maintaining detailed ownership records and overseeing regulatory compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.

T-REX Network noted that Polygon’s established expertise in blockchain technology and its robust infrastructure were crucial factors in the selection of Polygon as a partner. A representative explained that Polygon offered both the expertise and the technology needed to fulfill the project’s compliance vision.

T-REX Network emphasized that Polygon’s experience and technology were key to validating and executing their long-term compliance strategy for tokenized securities.

Regulatory challenges in tokenized securities

Early attempts to tokenize securities typically focused on digitizing traditional financial assets. However, these efforts often did not account for complex legal requirements related to ownership transfer, investor status, and jurisdictional restrictions that govern global securities markets.

T-REX Network highlighted that as tokenized assets flow between blockchains, fragmented compliance records make it difficult to ensure regulatory obligations are met. The lack of an interoperable compliance layer can hinder adoption and restrict utility for institutional investors in regulated markets.

Polygon CDK and ERC-3643 support compliance solution

Rather than constructing a proprietary blockchain, T-REX Network used Polygon’s CDK to set up a compliant, modular chain. The network said this approach streamlines development and allows faster transactions, addressing the slow withdrawal times common in some other blockchain systems.

T-REX Ledger is built using ERC-3643, a specialized token standard designed for regulatory-compliant digital securities. The company stated that ERC-3643 has already been used to tokenize over $32 billion in assets and is recognized by major industry participants, including DTCC, Deloitte, ABN AMRO, and Fireblocks.

Institutional momentum grows for RWA tokenization

Momentum has increased over the past year among institutions seeking to leverage blockchain for digital securities and tokenized funds. Major asset managers such as BlackRock and Franklin Templeton have launched tokenized investment products, indicating a strong interest in compliant infrastructure for regulated markets.

Industry participants point to growing adoption of regulated RWA networks as proof of institutional demand for blockchain-based compliance solutions.

The latest partnership between T-REX Network, Apex Group, and Polygon signals a broader shift toward integrating regulatory compliance directly into blockchain infrastructure, potentially paving the way for wider institutional involvement in tokenized markets.
