Ginkgo Bioworks partners with Acies Bio to license Aspergillus niger strains for protein production
Reuters2026/08/03 13:04- Ginkgo Bioworks entered a licensing collaboration with Acies Bio to expand global access to engineered Aspergillus niger strains for industrial protein production.
- Deal gives Acies customers licensed access to Ginkgo’s fungal chassis strains, paired with Acies strain development, bioprocess scale-up, validation, and manufacturing.
- Acies will use its SmartRoute integration to move programs from strain to industrial output at its facility with up to 30 m3 fermentation volumes.
