European Chip Stocks Rise After Nasdaq Rally -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/08/04 08:130812 GMT - Shares of European semiconductor companies are in green territory after the Nasdaq Composite in the U.S. logged strong gains in Monday's session. The tech-heavy index closed 2.1% higher, boosted by stocks exposed to artificial-intelligence infrastructure. Positive sentiment extended to Europe on Tuesday, with shares of Dutch semiconductor-equipment maker ASML Holding and smaller rival ASM International up 2.7% and 2.2%, respectively. German chip maker Infineon Technologies is up 4.1%. STMicroelectronics shares gain 2.7%. The E-mini Nasdaq 100 futures contract trades 0.6% higher, indicating a positive opening for tech stocks in the U.S. (mauro.orru@wsj.com)
