Meanwhile, 1 U.S. dollar could buy 158.33 Japanese yen, up from 157.67 yen the previous day; 1 U.S. dollar was exchangeable for 0.8122 Swiss francs, up from 0.8069 Swiss francs on the previous day; 1 U.S. dollar was exchangeable for 1.4014 Canadian dollars, slightly higher than 1.4008 Canadian dollars on the previous day; and 1 U.S. dollar was exchangeable for 9.5068 Swedish kronor, higher than 9.4832 Swedish kronor on the previous day. The rise of the U.S. Dollar Index this time mainly reflected the strengthening of the dollar's valuation against other major non-U.S. currencies in the foreign exchange market that day. The exchange rate fluctuations of each currency against the dollar also reflected the influence of various factors such as short-term market expectations and capital flows among different economies on the exchange rates.
