Joby Aviation agrees to buy defense tech firm Resonant Sciences

- Resonant will keep its name post-closing, led by co-founder and CEO Micah North, becoming Joby’s dedicated defense business.
- Deal aims to combine Joby’s aircraft, propulsion, and autonomy capabilities with Resonant’s classified infrastructure, production operations, and defense customer relationships.
- Combined footprint in the Dayton region is expected to reach about 1 million square feet of manufacturing, integration, and testing space.
