Circle hosts live earnings AMA with CEO Jeremy Allaire on August 19
Circle Internet Group is inviting investors and the crypto community to grill its CEO directly. The company has scheduled a live Ask Me Anything session with co-founder and CEO Jeremy Allaire for August 19 at 9 AM ET, streaming simultaneously on X and YouTube.
The timing is deliberate. Circle released its Q2 2026 earnings on August 5, and the numbers tell two different stories depending on which line you read first.
A tale of two metrics
Circle posted revenue of roughly $701.3 million for the quarter, a 6.6% increase compared to the same period last year. For a company that went public on the NYSE under the ticker CRCL, steady top-line growth is exactly what you want to show Wall Street.
The bottom line told a different story. Earnings per share came in at $0.18, meaningfully below the consensus estimate of $0.26.
USDC circulation during Q2 grew to $73.3 billion, representing a 19% year-over-year increase. On-chain transaction volume hit $14.8 trillion for the quarter. To put that in perspective, Visa processed roughly $3.9 trillion in total payment volume during its most recent comparable quarter. USDC is moving multiples of that figure on-chain, though the comparison is imperfect since crypto transaction volumes include a lot of recycled liquidity that traditional payment rails don’t count.
As of August 10, USDC circulation sat at approximately $72.1 billion, a slight dip from the Q2 peak but still demonstrating sustained demand across the stablecoin’s various markets.
Arc enters the picture
The AMA is likely to draw substantial attention toward Circle’s next big bet: the Arc blockchain. The company’s proprietary chain is on track for a public mainnet launch on September 16, less than a month after the scheduled AMA.
Allaire has made some bold claims about Arc’s potential, suggesting the blockchain could present opportunities that surpass even those of USDC. The pitch centers on real-world applications and tokenized assets, with Circle positioning Arc as a foundational platform where traditional finance meets blockchain infrastructure.
What investors should watch
The EPS miss is the elephant in the virtual room. Revenue growth of 6.6% year-over-year is solid but not spectacular, and the gap between expected and actual earnings suggests Circle’s cost structure may be expanding faster than its top line.
Circle’s pursuit of a New York trust charter adds another regulatory dimension worth monitoring. Securing that charter would give the company a stronger regulatory footing in the US and could open doors to institutional partnerships that require counterparties with specific licensing credentials.
The USDC circulation figures remain the company’s strongest talking point. A 19% year-over-year increase in circulation speaks to genuine adoption, with stablecoins increasingly used for everything from DeFi collateral to cross-border remittances.
The $14.8 trillion in on-chain transaction volume during Q2 also deserves scrutiny. That figure represents the total value flowing through USDC contracts across all supported chains, and its trajectory will be a leading indicator of whether Circle can convert volume into sustainable revenue growth.

With the US midterm elections approaching, Wall Street bets on a divided Congress—will markets see a mild respite?
As the U.S. midterm elections approach, Wall Street is generally betting on a "divided Congress" scenario, with the Democratic Party taking back the House of Representatives and the Republican Party retaining the Senate. This is expected to limit radical policies and reduce uncertainty. Historical data shows that since 1950, when a divided Congress occurred under a Republican president, the average annual gain of U.S. stocks was 13.7%, higher than the 8.3% and 4.9% gains when either the Republican or Democratic Party controlled Congress alone. If the election results deviate from expectations, the market may still experience significant volatility.

In the era of AI inference, demand for "optical interconnects" is booming! Lumentum (LITE.US), "standing in the light," is ahead of NPO, expanding OCS to embrace the moment of profit surge
From an underlying engineering perspective, the growing demand for optical interconnection arises from more frequent and stricter data exchanges between computing nodes: expert parallelism in Mixture of Experts (MoE) models requires distributing and aggregating data across GPUs; Prefill–Decode Disaggregation necessitates the transfer of KV Cache; complex agent workflows increase the concurrency of model invocation, tool execution, and data access.
