British Police Seize 20.21 Bitcoins Traceable to Dark Web Market
BlockBeats News, August 28th, the UK police announced that its financial investigation team has recovered 20.21 bitcoins, along with additional cryptocurrency assets and bank account funds, totaling $1.4 million (103,248.786 pounds). The individuals involved in the case had previous money laundering convictions and have since passed away.
With the assistance of the police cyber team, investigators traced these assets back to dark web markets operating between 2016 and 2019. The police stated that these now-defunct websites had facilitated crimes such as drug trafficking and human trafficking but did not disclose specific names.
