GFL Environmental Closes the Acquisition of SECURE Waste Infrastructure

09:36 AM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- GFL Environmental (GFL.TO, GFL) on Tuesday said it closed the C$6.4 billion acquisition of SECURE Waste Infrastructure. SECURE shares are expected to be delisted from the Toronto Stock Exchange by Wednesday. GFL said it financed the acquisition through a combination of its revolving credit facility, the sale of 75.13 million shares and a new $1 billion senior secured term loan. GFL expects to provide an updated 2026 guidance during the third quarter to include SECURE's operations. The company's shares closed unchanged at C$58.56 Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
