XRP edged closer to a key technical zone following several days of trading within a narrowing range. Crypto developer Bird, an independent analyst active in the digital asset community, drew attention to the increasingly compressed price structure and suggested a major move for XRP could be imminent.
XRP nears critical breakout as Bird eyes major price move at $1.36
Bird signals upcoming volatility
Bird shared his analysis on X, posting, “Big XRP move incoming. We are moments away. To infinity and beyond. Buzzing.” The post included a four-hour chart mapping XRP/USD price action as the coin rallied from near $1.00 to the $1.50 region before settling into sideways trade.
The chart reveals a period of consolidation, marked by gradually lower highs and steady support between $1.35 and $1.40. Two descending trendlines define the tightening formation, placing XRP at $1.36 when the snapshot was taken, near the lower boundary of the triangle pattern.
Bird highlighted the compressed price action, emphasizing, “We are moments away. To infinity and beyond. Buzzing.”
While Bird refrained from predicting a specific direction, his language and references implied a bullish outlook. He pointed to the “compression” within the structure, indicating potential for a substantial price swing once the range breaks.

Key price levels attract attention
According to the shared chart, XRP is trading near the formation’s lower boundary while resistance continues to drop from the $1.50 zone. An upward breakout above the trendline could signal growing demand from buyers, while a move beneath the support might undermine confidence in the bullish structure.
Rob Thomas, another market watcher, echoed Bird’s sentiment that XRP is nearing a decision point. Thomas recommended that traders monitor price action around the $1.40 to $1.42 area and described a rally above $1.50 with a successful retest as a key event worth following.
Rob Thomas noted that “a move above $1.50 followed by a retest of that level would be very interesting,” suggesting that confirmation from price action remains essential for trend validation.
Opinions among the crypto community remain split. Some respondents flagged risks of manipulation and called for clearer regulations, while others suggested a possible downside break below $1.30. Notably, one participant set a highly ambitious target, stating he was waiting for XRP to reach $2,000.
| $1.30 | Support, possible bearish invalidation below |
| $1.35–$1.40 | Current support range within formation |
| $1.40–$1.42 | Short-term area to watch for upward momentum |
| $1.50 | Descending resistance and potential breakout confirmation |
| $2,000 | Long-term target cited by some participants |
XRP at a crucial technical juncture
Bird’s analysis emphasizes that XRP is approaching a pivotal point after a period of compressed volatility. The $1.36 price zone draws market attention as traders look for confirmation of direction.
An advance above the $1.40 mark could reinvigorate bullish momentum and pave the way for a test of the descending resistance near $1.50. If XRP falls below $1.30, however, it would challenge the optimistic scenario discussed by Bird and other bullish community members.

How will Besant "buy back US Treasuries"? The first clues may emerge tonight
At 11 p.m. Beijing time tonight, the U.S. Treasury will announce the size of its long-term bond repurchase operations. This is the first disclosure since the August 19 announcement that repurchases would “at least double.” The market expects the size to exceed $4 billion, with Morgan Stanley estimating an upper limit of around $10 billion, and Wrightson ICAP considering $5–6 billion as a reasonable starting point. The announcement will be made several hours before the 10-year Treasury auction, and a scale above or below expectations could trigger market volatility.
