Can Dogecoin Reach $0.12 as Bitcoin Drives the Next Crypto Liquidity Cycle?

Dogecoin’s move toward $0.12 looks less demanding when measured by valuation than its headline price target suggests. At $0.087 as of press time, the token would need to gain roughly 38% to reach that level.

The technical setup has also strengthened the case for a higher move. Ali Charts said Thursday that a bullish flag breakout projected $0.1175, with intermediate levels near $0.0929, $0.1007, and $0.1114. Meanwhile, trading volume climbed above $1 billion, reflecting increased market activity around the breakout.

However, the valuation required for $0.12 remains relatively modest compared with Dogecoin’s historical levels. CoinGecko reports about 155.77 billion DOGE in circulation, placing the current market capitalization near $13.6 billion.

At that circulating supply, a price of $0.12 would imply a market capitalization of approximately $18.7 billion. By comparison, DOGE would need to trade near $0.128 to reach a $20 billion valuation.

That means the gap from today’s market capitalization is about $5.1 billion. However, this does not mean buyers must inject an equivalent $5.1 billion in fresh capital. Instead, market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the latest token price by circulating supply.

Consequently, changes in quoted valuation can exceed the amount of actual net buying entering the market. Even at $18.7 billion, Dogecoin’s valuation would remain well below its historical peak. On May 7, 2021, its market capitalization reached about $88.7 billion.

However, supply continues to raise the valuation hurdle gradually. The network adds roughly 5 billion DOGE annually and has no final issuance date. Therefore, maintaining the same price increasingly requires more demand as circulating supply expands.

Bitcoin does not need to reach $150,000 or $200,000 for DOGE to trade at $0.12. Instead, the connection is market-wide rather than mathematical. Bitcoin currently trades near $81,000, with approximately 20.08 million coins in circulation.

At $150,000, its implied valuation would be roughly $3.0 trillion. At $200,000, that figure would approach $4.0 trillion. Meanwhile, the total crypto market is worth about $2.81 trillion, with Bitcoin dominance near 57.5%.

Against that backdrop, a $18.7 billion DOGE valuation would still represent less than 1% of the total crypto market. Therefore, the larger issue is not market size but how capital is distributed across digital assets.

Bitcoin gained 24% in August, strengthening broader market momentum. At the same time, DOGE’s breakout was accompanied by higher trading activity and improved risk appetite, creating a more supportive environment for capital rotation.

A sustained DOGE move would require the breakout to hold above resistance near $0.093 before challenging $0.10 and higher chart levels. Based on current supply and valuation, $0.12 is not an extreme market-cap threshold.

The larger variable is whether liquidity broadens beyond Bitcoin into higher-beta assets. That keeps the target grounded in market structure.

In the era of AI inference, demand for "optical interconnects" is booming! Lumentum (LITE.US), "standing in the light," is ahead of NPO, expanding OCS to embrace the moment of profit surge

From an underlying engineering perspective, the growing demand for optical interconnection arises from more frequent and stricter data exchanges between computing nodes: expert parallelism in Mixture of Experts (MoE) models requires distributing and aggregating data across GPUs; Prefill–Decode Disaggregation necessitates the transfer of KV Cache; complex agent workflows increase the concurrency of model invocation, tool execution, and data access.

Federal Reserve rate hike rationale further reinforced! US August PPI sees biggest increase in three months, energy as main driver; tomorrow's CPI may determine the outcome

Driven by the rebound in energy product prices, the U.S. Producer Price Index (PPI) for August accelerated further, continuing a series of elevated readings since renewed hostilities between the U.S. and Iran. This may further strengthen the case for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates at next week's meeting.
