Sector Update: Consumer

08:59 AM EDT, 09/04/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were falling premarket Friday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) declining 0.4% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) down 0.7%. Lululemon Athletica (LULU) stock was down nearly 20% after the company posted lower fiscal Q2 earnings and revenue, and cut its fiscal 2026 outlook.
