  1. International oil prices climbed sharply in early trading on Wednesday, rising for the fourth consecutive session. Brent crude oil futures reached as high as 99.63, marking a new high since July 24; WTI crude oil futures hit $94.78 per barrel, the highest since June 8. Iran launched a new round of attacks on US military assets in the Persian Gulf region, further driving up oil prices.
  2. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed to have used ballistic missiles to attack two US destroyers and a US military base in Azraq, Jordan, in retaliation for the US's previous destruction of Iranian oil tankers. The Jordanian military reported that air defense systems successfully intercepted 18 out of 20 ballistic missiles launched from Iran, with the remaining two falling in uninhabited areas, resulting in no casualties.
  3. US Secretary of State Rubio issued a warning, stating that actions against Iranian oil tankers would continue in response to their attempted attacks on US warships. The US Central Command previously confirmed that after Iran attempted twice in the past two days to attack a US Navy warship with missiles, the US military sunk five Iranian crude oil tankers on September 8.
