NEAR Approaches $2.55 as Bulls Push Higher: Is a Pullback Coming?

  • NEAR gains 10% as rising volume strengthens bullish momentum toward $2.55 resistance.
  • TVL surged above $185 million, adding fundamental support to the ongoing rally
  • .Profit-taking near $2.55 could trigger a pullback toward $2.43 before another breakout attempt.

Near Protocol — NEAR, is closing in on a major resistance level after another powerful daily advance. The token has gained 10% within 24 hours, bringing bulls within striking distance. Trading volume has also surged, showing stronger participation behind the move. Now, attention centers on $2.55 and the possibility of another breakout.

NEAR Bulls Gain Momentum as Volume Surges

NEAR currently trades around $2.45, just $0.10 below the $2.55 target. The latest 10% gain shows strong buying pressure across the market. Trading volume has also climbed sharply during the advance. Volume increased 67% to roughly $676 million within 24 hours. Strong price action alongside rising volume signals active buyer participation. The latest rally follows a breakout from a pennant consolidation formation. NEAR had remained inside that structure for several weeks.

The eventual breakout gave buyers room to accelerate the upward move. Recent gains have remained consistent since the breakout. Such momentum suggests buyers still control the short-term market structure. However, resistance near $2.55 could provide a serious test. Bulls need sustained demand to push through the nearby barrier. NEAR also trades above the major Exponential Moving Averages. The key EMA level currently sits around $2.43.

Holding above that area would keep short-term momentum firmly tilted upward. A sustained move above $2.50 could strengthen the bullish setup. A move above $2.50 would provide another important technical signal. Bulls could then attempt to flip former resistance into fresh support. That shift would strengthen the case for a move beyond $2.55. Successive higher lows could also reinforce the developing uptrend.

Can NEAR Break $2.55 or Face Profit-taking?

The $2.55 level now represents the clearest hurdle for NEAR bulls. A decisive breakout could extend the current advance toward higher targets. Strong trading volume would make such a breakout more convincing. Buyers need sustained demand rather than a brief spike above resistance. Profit-taking presents the main threat near the psychological resistance zone.

Traders holding positions from lower levels may choose to secure gains. Such selling could create temporary pressure around $2.50 and $2.55. A rejection could then push NEAR toward a short-term correction. However, a controlled retracement would not automatically damage the broader bullish structure. NEAR could consolidate before buyers attempt another breakout.

Holding above $2.43 would also help preserve current momentum. Buyers could use that area as a reference during temporary weakness. For now, NEAR remains firmly positioned near a crucial technical milestone. Rising volume and stronger network activity continue supporting the bullish case. Still, $2.55 remains the level bulls must conquer.

The Stoxx Europe 600 Index closed down 1.41% on Wednesday, marking the largest single-day drop since July. As Brent crude once again surpassed $100, traders bet on the European Central Bank and Bank of England raising rates by about 90 basis points each by 2027. On Wednesday, the yield on Germany's two-year bonds briefly rose to 3.08%, the highest level since June 2024. However, several analysts warned that current rate-hike pricing may be excessive, citing a lack of evidence for widespread inflation and noting that downside risks to the eurozone economy will limit the central banks’ room to raise rates.
