Middleby to Discontinue Brewing Unit

Middleby is discontinuing its brewing and distilling business.
The business, which includes Deutsche Beverage + Process, Ss Brewtech and Wild Good Filling, is set to wind down by the end of this year.
The decision was the result of an increased focus on simplifying the company based on long-term growth and margin potential, Middleby said Wednesday.
Last year, the brewing business represented $24 million of the company's total sales and operated at a loss of $9 million in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
Middleby reaffirmed its prior guidance, and said discontinuation of the brewing business would be immaterial.
