India has launched an online platform to help its exporters connect with US buyers, stepping up efforts to boost bilateral trade to $500 billion by the end of this decade. This move comes as India and the US continue negotiations on a trade agreement, the basic framework of which was reached earlier this year. Despite punitive tariffs imposed by Trump and India's efforts to diversify overseas markets, the US remains a key market for Indian exporters. Binaya Pradhan, Consul General of India in New York, stated: "Exporters of goods and services will be able to connect with US buyers through this trade portal, including major retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Costco. The platform aims to help Indian small and medium-sized enterprises and first-time exporters access the US market."
