An event designed for finance moving on-chain
The European Blockchain Convention presents itself as the trading floor of European digital assets: a deal floor where traditional banks and digital asset players meet on the same level. While many crypto events highlight protocols and tokens, EBC puts institutions at the centre. The announced speaker list confirms this: Nikhil Sharma (BlackRock), Tom Zschach (Swift), Kim Hochfeld (State Street), Nadine Teychenne and Ryan Rugg (Citi), David Calabaza (BNP Paribas), Immo Garlichs (Deutsche Bank), Kathleen Wrynn (Invesco) and Previn Singh (Fidelity International). In other words, the digital asset executives of major asset managers and custodian banks, not just startup founders.
The crypto-native world is not absent, however: Stani Kulechov (Aave), the Cardano Foundation and Animoca Brands are on the line-up, alongside the FCA. It is precisely this mix of TradFi, crypto natives and regulators that forms the central argument of this edition, at a time when tokenisation is moving beyond the experimentation stage.
Deal Floor, Startup Battle and allocator breakfasts
The format is designed for networking. On the menu: an expanded exhibition area, a networking app that allows attendees to identify the right contacts and schedule meetings in advance, closed peer-to-peer roundtables, and a breakfast reserved for allocators, asset managers and family offices. The Startup Battle, meanwhile, puts the spotlight on young market infrastructure companies.
This is therefore not a festival in the broad sense, but a dense business event, based in a hotel rather than on a beach. The difference in dynamics is deliberate: the organiser is betting on longer conversations and an environment conducive to negotiation. For visitors looking for general public education, this is something to keep in mind: EBC is primarily aimed at industry professionals.
Prices and discount code
Three passes are available, all covering both days and excluding VAT (10%). The General Pass starts at EUR 500 at the Early Bird rate, then EUR 750 for Regular and EUR 1,800 for Late Bird. The VIP Pass adds lunch with speakers, the opening party on September 15 and access to the Speaker Lounge, starting at EUR 800. The Tiger Pass, designed for business development, includes access to the attendee list and three one-to-one meetings, starting at EUR 2,499.
One important detail: prices increase in stages as the date approaches, and a countdown indicates the end of the Early Bird period. It is therefore better to book early. Payment is possible in euros as well as crypto, and the code Cointribune_15 applies -15% off the current price, to be verified at checkout.
👉 Cointribune_15. Remember to enter the code before payment; prices increase as the event approaches, and the ticket does not cover travel or accommodation in Barcelona.
