08:01 AM EDT, 09/11/2026 (MT Newswires) -- InterDigital (IDCC) has filed a damages claim seeking 101.7 million euros ($118 million) from Walt Disney (DIS) over the alleged unlicensed use of video technology by the Disney+ streaming service, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter. The claim, filed with the Munich Regional Court earlier this month, is related to Disney's use of high-dynamic-range, or HDR, technology in Germany from 2020 through November 2025, when the court ruled that Disney infringed an InterDigital patent related to streaming video using HDR technology and issued an injunction barring Disney from using it. InterDigital Chief Legal Officer Josh Schmidt told Bloomberg in a statement that the company prefers to reach a negotiated settlement with Disney.
