Anchoring to Nasdaq! Anthropic races toward a record-breaking IPO with fundraising scale targeting SpaceX
Sources indicate that Anthropic PBC has chosen Nasdaq as its listing venue, and the potential IPO is expected to set a historic record.
According to Golden Ten Data APP, citing a source, Anthropic PBC has chosen Nasdaq as the venue for its listing, and this potential IPO is expected to set a historic record.
The source stated that the developer of the Claude chatbot is seeking to raise an amount in this IPO comparable to or even exceeding that of SpaceX, with the IPO possibly taking place as early as October.
Choosing to list on Nasdaq will be another victory for the company this year—America's four largest IPOs so far this year have all taken place on this exchange, including SpaceX's record-breaking $86.3 billion offering in June. Just weeks later, SK Hynix followed suit, going public in July and raising $26.5 billion.
As Anthropic prepares for its IPO, OpenAI Inc. CEO Sam Altman, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and Elon Musk all stated on Saturday that, given the escalating risks brought by artificial intelligence technology, it is necessary to slow down the pace of AI development. Altman said in an interview that, for safety reasons, his company will not go public this year.
Anthropic had planned to finalize a $15 billion revolving credit facility earlier this month.
The AI race has ignited the IPO market. According to compiled data, U.S. market listings have raised a total of $160.6 billion so far this year (excluding blank check companies and other financial instruments). Data shows it is the highest annual fundraising total since 2021.
Based on its current performance, Anthropic’s annualized revenue is expected to exceed $6.5 billion, a more than sevenfold increase from its run rate at the end of last year.
