Sui, a layer-1 blockchain developed by Mysten Labs, is currently trading near $0.72 as technical indicators highlight a potential trend change. Analyst Ali Martinez identified a TD Sequential buy signal on SUI’s 12-hour chart, an indicator that previously marked a 17% rally and momentum shift for the token.

Key technical signals and price levels
Martinez noted that the TD Sequential indicator has a record of pointing out major trend shifts in SUI’s recent chart history. The latest signal, appearing close to the $0.71–$0.73 price range, comes as SUI tests the lower boundary of a critical support zone. Martinez pointed out that a decisive close below $0.71 could open the way to lower levels at $0.62–$0.63, while a rebound could see SUI target $0.85 and potentially revisit the $1 mark.
SUI is trading near $0.71, with the TD Sequential indicator suggesting a possible momentum reversal; a clear break below this level could expose SUI to further declines, while a move upwards could shift focus back toward $1.
Fellow analyst Michaël van de Poppe also identified the $0.71–$0.73 area as a key support, stating the region could hold firm. He argued that if SUI recovers toward $0.85, levels above $1 may become relevant again.
If this support holds and SUI rebounds to $0.85, prices above $1 could soon come into focus, according to van de Poppe.
The TD Sequential is a technical analysis tool that tracks a series of price candles to identify when a market trend might be near exhaustion. A completed buy setup often signals the potential for a price reversal, but does not guarantee a new bullish trend.
Mini dictionary: TD Sequential, a price-based technical indicator used to identify possible trend exhaustion or reversal in financial markets by following a sequence of price bars.
Market data from CoinMarketCap shows SUI fluctuating in a 24-hour range between $0.7063 and $0.7305, with a maximum supply of 10 billion tokens and a circulating supply near 4.09 billion.
Institutional interest and network activity
Demand for SUI from institutional investors is growing, partly supported by new regulated products. The 21Shares Sui ETF, trading on Nasdaq under the TSUI ticker since February 2026, allows investors to gain direct spot exposure to SUI and includes potential staking of its holdings. CME Group has also launched SUI and Micro SUI futures, expanding derivatives access for larger market participants. These products have broadened exposure, but there is no confirmation of sustained inflows at this stage.
Sui’s on-chain data highlights further growth, with the network reporting over 16.17 billion lifetime transactions and stablecoin market capitalization exceeding $457 million. DeFiLlama reports that the value of stablecoins on the Sui network recently rose to $463.67 million, up almost 9% in a week, while the total value locked (TVL) in DeFi protocols reached $457.13 million.
| Stablecoin market capitalization | $463.67 million |
| DeFi TVL | $457.13 million |
| Lifetime network transactions | 16.17 billion |
| USDC market share | 63.88% |
| Max supply | 10 billion SUI |
| Circulating supply | 4.09 billion SUI |
USDC dominates Sui’s stablecoin sector, accounting for about 64% of this value, while other assets include Sui Dollar, FDUSD, BUCK, USDY, suiUSDe, and USDT. The network’s liquidity profile is thus closely linked to the performance of a single stablecoin.
SUI faces supply and leverage pressures
Despite increased institutional access and network growth, SUI faces ongoing supply pressures. Monthly token unlocks release about 64 million SUI into circulation, adding liquidity but also potentially pushing prices lower. The declining total value locked in DeFi protocols is another concern for market stability, as capital can move quickly during periods of stress or shift toward competing blockchains.
SUI’s futures market currently exhibits greater trading activity than spot markets, raising the risk of amplified price swings through liquidations if leveraged positions unwind. Technical indicators suggest a possible reversal, but price action near the $0.71 support remains decisive for SUI’s short-term outlook.

Due to rising interest rates and oil prices causing the stock market rally to stall, investors are divided—some worry about a rapid sell-off, while others are concerned about a slow market decline.
