NextEra Energy, Dominion Energy Expand Virginia Customer Benefits Package

08:27 AM EDT, 09/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- NextEra Energy (NEE) and Dominion Energy (D) said Monday they expanded the proposed customer benefits package for Virginia related to their pending merger. The updated proposal would extend monthly $10 residential bill credits from two years to four years and add $100 million in low-income bill assistance through 2038, the companies said. The package includes 600 new NextEra Energy jobs in Virginia and an expected 400 additional jobs from suppliers, investing $100 million in a workforce development fund, and building a shareholder-funded co-headquarters tower in Richmond, they said. The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, and the companies continue to expect it to close in H2 of 2027.
