Dollar Strengthens as Treasury Yields Rise Amid Inflation Fears -- Market Talk
Dow Jones2026/09/14 14:521052 ET - The dollar strengthens as U.S. interest rates keep rising. "The combination of heightened expectations for the Federal Reserve to lift rates late this week coupled with the high oil prices have helped lift the U.S. dollar broadly today," Bannockburn's Marc Chandler writes. The WSJ Dollar Index is up 0.5%, as the greenback strengthens 0.8% against the yen and 0.6% versus the euro. Inflation expectations are rising, as measured by the derivatives market, while Treasury yields reach multi-year highs and the 10-year benchmark surpasses 5%. (paulo.trevisani@wsj.com; @ptrevisani)
