1. According to CNBC, Iran has announced the downing of a US MQ-1 drone in the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that its new, advanced aerospace defense system intercepted and destroyed the US aircraft. Previously, Iranian forces had taken military action against US unmanned naval systems in the Gulf region. This marks a new round of confrontation between Tehran and Washington, further increasing upward pressure on international oil prices on Monday.2. US President Trump stated during the Irish Open golf tournament on Sunday: "Unless we decide to stay like Venezuela and continue controlling the oil, we will eventually end this war."3. Meanwhile, negotiations between Iran and Gulf countries over a potential agreement to facilitate the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz have been postponed, adding further uncertainty to the reopening of this strategic global oil trade route.4. On Monday, the Saudi Arabian government confirmed the closure of a pipeline used to export crude oil from the country in response to the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, causing international crude oil prices to rise on the news. The pipeline closure was caused by a drone attack from Iraq, and authorities have not estimated how long the pipeline will remain out of operation.
