Helaba Invest says it is gradually lengthening duration due to rising U.S. Treasury yields

Jens Bies, Head of Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange Research and Asset Management at Helaba Invest, stated that the company is taking advantage of the recent rise in US Treasury yields to gradually extend the duration of its portfolio. Given that the market has now priced in expectations of the Federal Reserve raising rates more than three times, he pointed out: "We see investment potential—especially at the short end of the yield curve, where the risk-return ratio is particularly favorable." He also noted that only when economic growth begins to slow will the long end of the yield curve regain its appeal.
