MediaTek launches the world’s first 2nm mobile chip, Dimensity 9600 Pro, ahead of Qualcomm (QCOM.US), with significantly improved on-device AI performance

According to Zhihu Finance APP, MediaTek released a new smartphone chip on Tuesday, built with TSMC’s (TSM.US) most advanced manufacturing process, directly targeting the high-end smartphone market. Its semiconductor products enable more AI functions to be run directly on the device. This move is part of MediaTek’s overall strategy to compete with its US rival Qualcomm (QCOM.US) for the high-end smartphone market, where higher-priced devices and AI features can bring better profit margins to chip manufacturers.
