Here’s Why XRP Price Is Running Hard Right Now
XRP holders had a difficult week, but things are turning around. Crypto expert and content creator Austin Hilton shared a video showing the crypto market surging 6.77% in 24 hours, with hundreds of billions of dollars flowing in and no single catalyst to explain it.
The crypto world endured a brutal week. The Federal Reserve raised rates. The Bank of Japan followed. The CLARITY Act failed in the Senate on Tuesday, sending XRP down over 10% to a low of $1.28.
Despite these developments, the market is surging anyway. XRP has climbed back to $1.40. Bitcoin is above $81,000, up 6.6% in 24 hours. Ethereum is up nearly 8%. Solana is up 12%. Arbitrum has climbed 29%. The total crypto market cap sits at $2.78 trillion.
No Specific Catalyst
Hilton’s central observation is striking. “There’s not a specific catalyst really to point at,” he said. He acknowledged that the SEC and CFTC released various guidelines and regulatory announcements, sending them to the White House for approval.
He believes those announcements contributed to the move. But the absence of a single major trigger tells him something significant about the market itself.
Pent-Up Demand Is Driving the Move
Hilton argues the real story is the volume of capital sitting on the sidelines. “There is a tremendous amount of capital money that is ready to flow back into crypto,” he said. The speed and scale of the recovery, without a headline event behind it, signal that investors were waiting for any reason to move.
He pointed to FOMO as a secondary force. As prices climbed, sidelined investors started coming in and pushing the move. Bitcoin breaking above $80,000 triggered over $183 million in short liquidations, adding further upward momentum.
The Crypto Fear and Greed Index currently sits at 74. Hilton considers that notable given what just happened. “This is coming on the heels of a truly bad week,” he said, citing the Fed rate hike, the Bank of Japan rate hike, and the CLARITY Act failure.
What This Suggests Going Forward
Hilton remains cautiously optimistic. He wants to see the move continue before drawing firm conclusions. He noted that the market needs more than just a one-day run. It must sustain momentum to confirm the trend.
XRP is up 24% over the past month. With the CLARITY Act now off the table until at least the next Congress, the price action from here will depend on what the market decides next.
