Paramount Global (PSKY.US) is close to reaching a settlement agreement to advance the $110 billions Warner acquisition, but some state attorneys general have yet to give their support.

According to Golden Ten Data APP, it is reported that Paramount (PSKY.US) is engaged in intensive negotiations with state attorneys general to advance its $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD.US), but not all state attorneys general support the deal. Sources revealed that Rob Bonta, the California Attorney General who has been leading a coalition of 12 states and has filed a lawsuit challenging the deal, has been working to reach a settlement agreement with Paramount over the past few days. New York Attorney General Letitia James has consistently opposed the current terms and is seeking additional protections for employees. The report also states that Connecticut and at least two other states have concerns about the settlement agreement and currently do not support the deal. These dissenting states are seeking further concessions from Paramount. Another person familiar with the negotiations reported that Connecticut Attorney General William Tong is “working hard to safeguard the independence of CNN and CBS News.”
