According to preliminary shipping data released on Tuesday, the number of bulk commodity vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz on Monday dropped to 2 from 10 the previous day. This data does not include ships that turned off their Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponders to evade detection. Kpler data indicates that a Panama-flagged Supramax bulk carrier loaded with ore and a Liberia-flagged bulk carrier entered the waterway via unknown routes. Meanwhile, shipping intelligence and tracking firm Marisks Intelligence reported on Tuesday that a crude oil tanker and a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier were attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
