Sector Update: Healthcare Stocks Retreat in Afternoon Trading

01:41 PM EDT, 09/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks declined Wednesday afternoon, with the NYSE Healthcare Index shedding 1% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) down 0.9%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) fell 2.1%. In corporate news, Astrana Health (ASTH) shares fell past 5% after the firm said some confidential information on its servers may have been accessed after its Astrana Health Management subsidiary detected unusual activity in its systems. Novo Nordisk (NVO) signaled it may consider upgrading its New York listing as it looks to raise its profile in the US market, the Financial Times reported, citing CEO Mike Doustdar. Novo shares were down 3%. Roivant Sciences (ROIV) said its Immunovant (IMVT) subsidiary plans to stop development of IMVT-1402 in cutaneous lupus erythematosus after a proof-of-concept study failed to achieve statistical significance on the primary endpoint. Immunovant shares fell 7%, and Roivant was down 2.3%.
