Meta launches camera-free smart glasses with a starting price of $349

Meta Platforms (META.US) is expanding its smart glasses product line by launching a camera-free version and introducing the Muse assistant feature to its smart eyewear. At the Connect annual conference held on Wednesday, the company unveiled the first camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio smart glasses. At the same time, Meta also released the third generation of Ray-Ban Meta glasses equipped with cameras, as well as a new, more affordable Meta-branded smart glasses model. These audio-focused glasses offer Meta a renewed opportunity to explore the wearable product category, which previously faced controversy over privacy concerns. The starting price for the camera-free Meta glasses is $349, with third-generation models scheduled to begin shipping on October 3. Additionally, the third-generation model features a new “action button” that users can customize to perform specific tasks, such as activating the Muse voice assistant.
