Meta Platforms (META.US) made a surprise announcement at the Connect conference on Wednesday, unveiling a dedicated handheld device designed to run its new AI assistant, Muse, further expanding its presence in the AI hardware market. The device is the result of collaboration between the company's new design lab, led by former Apple (AAPL.US) interface design chief Alan Dye, and the Meta superintelligent AI team. The device, called "Muse Charm," resembles the popular 1990s virtual pet Tamagotchi.
