RedotPay is in the news today after it transitioned its U.S lending growth from planning to regulatory access. On 23rd September, it announced that it had received approval for its first two state lending licenses in Idaho and Nebraska.
Obtaining these state lending licenses enables RedotPay to begin offering various lending products as soon as it begins U.S operations. The state lending licenses will enable RedotPay to lend across many states.
However, it will not permit RedotPay to lend across all 50 states or utilize all of its payment services. Not yet. Which is why it’s worth noting that RedotPay has also filed for over twenty additional state lending licenses.
Simply put, it would seem that RedotPay’s efforts to develop a larger U.S. footprint remain a work in progress.
RedotPay faces fragmented U.S lending market
It’s not going to be easy to expand that regulatory footprint though. This, due to the large differences in lending regulations that exist throughout each state in the United States.
In fact, each approval request has separate capital, bonding, compliance, and examination requirements. This makes nationwide expansion slower and more expensive. Larger markets such as California and New York may take six months or longer, potentially delaying RedotPay’s broader rollout.
However, the product itself could offer a different route into consumer credit. This, due to the fact that its model uses Bitcoin [BTC], Ethereum [ETH], and stablecoins as collateral instead of relying mainly on income or credit scores.
The use of these cryptocurrencies eliminates the need for users to sell their assets and provides them with access to liquidity. In turn, this would allow Redotpay to keep all the consumers’ spending activity within its payment network.
However, like traditional forms of collateral, the value of cryptocurrencies can fluctuate rapidly, causing the value of collateral to drop. This can limit the amount of money that can be borrowed by Redotpay’s customers.
This makes regulatory approval and risk management equally important to expansion.
With the regulatory groundwork taking shape, RedotPay is entering a market that already has established lenders and substantial outstanding credit.
In fact, according to a Galaxy Research Report, crypto-collateralized loans totaled $56.16 billion in Q2 2026. That was approximately a decline of 40% from its peak of $78.7 billion in Q3 2025.
RedotPay will enter into the market using a different model than other competitors. It intends to utilize its regulated lending model by leveraging its payment processing network. Its platform is already servicing over 8 million users, while currently processing over $14 billion.
This volume may aid in generating initial demand. As it stands, its challenge now lies towards managing credit risk and competing with established lenders.
