Government of Canada Two-Year Bond Auction Attracts More Than Twice The Amount on Sale

12:19 PM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Government of Canada's (GoC) two-year bond auction sold CA$5.5 billion at an average yield of 3.47%, with demand reaching 2.29 times the amount offered, according to data on the Bank of Canada website on Thursday. Distributors submitted CA$12.6 billion in bids, with Canadian investors receiving 63.8% of the allocation, while international investors took 36.2%, according to the BoC. The maturity date of the bonds is Nov. 1, 2028. Canada's central bank didn't participate in the auction.
