Almost 11.1 million shares traded intraday, compared with a daily average of over 1.73 million. MGM Resorts International (MGM) said late Thursday that People (PPLI) dropped its offer to acquire the casino operator. MGM shares sank 11% as intraday trading volume soared to over 13.7 million from the stock's daily average of roughly 2.54 million. Gen Digital (GEN) has made an initial takeover approach for GoDaddy (GDDY) as it seeks to expand beyond cybersecurity and privacy technology, the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
