Sirios Resources Starts Diamond Drilling Program on the Aquilon Gold Project in Quebec

08:01 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Sirios Resources (SOI.V) has started a 1,800-meter diamond drilling program on the Aquilon gold project, in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Quebec, it said Friday. The company expects the program, which consists of three new holes and the extension of two existing holes with a helicopter supported drill rig, to confirm lateral and depth continuity and the extent of the large gold halo that was discovered during the 2025 drilling program, it said. Sirios Resources, which acts as the operator, is funding 49% of the drilling program, while Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada (Sumitomo) is funding 51%, added the company. "Aquilon has yielded some of the highest-grade drill intercepts ever obtained in Quebec, including 12,906.5 g/t Au over 0.2 m in the Lingo zone," said Chief Executive Officer Jean-Felix Lepage. "This new program will allow us to better determine the size of the gold halo that was discovered in last year's program."
