CoreCivic Names Lucibeth Mayberry CEO as Patrick Swindle Steps Down

08:27 AM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- CoreCivic (CXW) said Friday Patrick Swindle has resigned as chief executive officer and president due to health reasons and Lucibeth Mayberry has been appointed as successor. Mayberry has served as executive vice president and chief strategy officer since May 2025, the company said. Swindle, who has served as CEO since Jan. 1, 2026, will continue to advise the company as a special adviser during the transition, CoreCivic said. CoreCivic shares were down 3.4% in premarket activity Friday.
