BQE Water Restarts Selen-IX Water Treatment Plant at Kemess in British Columbia

12:37 PM EDT, 09/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BQE Water (BQE.V) restarted operation of the selenium removal treatment plant at the Kemess project in collaboration with Centerra Gold (CG.TO, CGAU), it said in a statement late Thursday. Commissioning activities began in late-summer of 2026, and seasonal operations have started and are expected to continue for the next few months, it said. The company received the first official test results confirming that selenium concentrations in the water treatment plant effluent are below the detection limit of less than two parts per billion, as of Sept. 14. The Kemess project is in British Columbia, according to Centerra Gold's website. "The process start-up was smooth, and we are looking forward to the next 4+ years of operations at Kemess," said BQE Water Chief Executive Officer David Kratochvil.
