06:54 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Standard Lithium (SLI) and Equinor (EQNR) partnership Smackover Lithium said Monday it amended a supply agreement with Trafigura for the South West Arkansas project, with commercial production expected in 2029. The revised contract gives the joint venture the option to provide Trafigura with an additional 4,000 metric tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually for 10 years, the company said. The change increases the maximum possible delivery volume to Trafigura to 12,000 metric tons per year, Smackover Lithium said. Total supply commitments for the development now stand at 20,000 metric tons per year, providing enough volume to advance a $1.1 billion debt financing process, the company added. Shares of Standard Lithium were up 2.1%, while Equinor shares gained 2.4% in Monday premarket activity.
