09:05 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Financial stocks were declining pre-bell Monday, with the State Street Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF) 0.2% lower. The Direxion Daily Financial Bull 3X Shares (FAS) was down 0.7% and its bearish counterpart Direxion Daily Financial Bear 3X Shares (FAZ) was 0.4% higher. Burford Capital (BUR) shares were up more than 5% after the company said a jury awarded $5.7 billion in damages to the plaintiff in a patent case involving Apple (AAPL), giving Burford Capital a potential entitlement of about $1.4 billion.
