Traction Uranium Says Drilling Starts at the Aurora Uranium Project in the Athabasca Basin

MT newswireMT newswire2026/09/28 13:23
09:23 AM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Traction Uranium (TRAC.CN) on Monday said diamond drilling at the Aurora uranium project located in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin region is underway. The company said drilling will total about 800 meters in four to six holes to test shallow conductive targets, several with nearby radiometric anomalies interpreted to reflect uranium-bearing sources. The owner and operator of the project, Cosa Resources (COSA.V), is conducting the program with full funding from Traction, which has an option to acquire an 80% stake in the property by paying CA$9.15 million of exploration costs at the site. Drilling at target A1 in southwestern Aurora will test a northeast-trending conductive response adjacent to a uranium-source radiometric anomaly, where no Athabasca sandstone cover is expected, it said. In the northern part of the project, Target A2 comprises a conductive response coincident with several interpreted magnetic lineaments, it added. Shares of Traction Uranium closed unchanged at CA$0.93 on Friday on the Canadian Securities Exchange.
