According to the Zhihu Finance APP, on Monday, gold and silver stocks collectively declined, with Gold Fields (GFI.US) plunging over 11%, AngloGold Ashanti (AU.US) dropping more than 5%, Agnico Eagle Mines (AEM.US) and First Majestic Silver (AG.US) falling over 4%, Silvercorp Metals (SVM.US) and Pan American Silver (PAAS.US) declining nearly 4%, while Newmont Mining (NEM.US) and Kinross Gold (KGC.US) dropped more than 3%. On the news front, spot gold at one point dropped below $4,140 per ounce during intraday trading, falling more than 3% on the day. Spot silver at one point fell below $61 per ounce during intraday trading, with a daily drop of over 5%.
