Update: Kodiak Shares Soar After Eye Drug Candidates Meet Primary Endpoints in Late-Stage Trial

Kodiak Sciences (KOD) shares were up nearly 190% in Monday trading after the company said that its two experimental eye drugs, Zenkuda and tabirafusp-ted, met primary endpoints in a Phase 3 study in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration. The study showed that both treatments achieved "non-inferiority in vision gains" compared with aflibercept during the first year, the company said. Kodiak said 54% of patients maintained a six-month dosing interval through the first year under the study's retreatment criteria. Kodiak said it plans to submit Zenkuda data from five positive Phase 3 studies to regulatory authorities in Q4. The studies cover wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and macular edema following retinal vein occlusion, Kodiak said.
