Comcast partnered with Fastly to run Fastly’s delivery software inside Comcast’s nationwide network to support NBCUniversal’s Peacock live streams.
Model shifts delivery closer to viewers via Comcast’s 200-plus edge compute centers, aiming to add capacity for peak live-event traffic.
Architecture is designed to cut duplicate traffic across long network paths, improving efficiency for high-demand, real-time streaming.
Deployment targets Peacock’s biggest live events, including major U.S. sports, with broader potential uses such as gaming or AI inference.
