Advanced Micro Devices to Acquire World Labs in $8.2 Billion All-Stock Deal

04:38 PM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) said late Monday it has agreed to acquire World Labs, an artificial intelligence model and research lab, in an all-stock deal valued at roughly $8.2 billion. The acquisition advances AMD's strategy to deliver AI infrastructure for an open ecosystem, the company said. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions, AMD said.
