TC Energy to Proceed With Coastal GasLink Phase 2 After LNG Canada Investment Decision

07:24 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- TC Energy (TRP) said Tuesday the second phase of its Coastal GasLink pipeline project will move forward after LNG Canada and its partners reached a positive final investment decision on the facility expansion. The development will nearly double the pipeline's about 2.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural-gas transport capacity by installing new compressor stations and upgrading existing equipment, the company said. LNG Canada will manage construction of the expansion, while Coastal GasLink will retain ownership and remain the operator and permit holder of the pipeline and associated facilities, TC Energy said. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2027, with the project expected to enter service in the early 2030s, it said.
