Correction: Coastal GasLink Phase 2 Project to Proceed Following Positive Final Investment Decision

07:54 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The Coastal GasLink Phase 2 project is proceeding after the LNG Canada expansion project received a positive final investment decision, TC Energy (TRP.TO) said Tuesday. CGL Phase 2 is designed to nearly double the capacity of the current CGL pipeline, which transports about 2.1 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas. The project involves the addition of new compressor stations and facility upgrades along the 670-kilometer route to the LNG Canada liquefaction facility in Kitimat, British Columbia. LNG Canada will lead project construction as Phase 2 execution manager and CGL will remain the owner, operator and permit holder of the pipeline and associated facilities. CGL and TC Energy will provide technical advisory and procurement services. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2027, with in-service expected in the early 2030s.
