Cboe, S&P Dow Jones Indices Extend Exclusive Licensing Agreement Through 2051

09:22 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Cboe Global Markets (CBOE) and S&P Global's (SPGI) S&P Dow Jones Indices have extended their exclusive licensing agreement for another 25 years, through 2051, the companies said on Tuesday. Under the agreement, Cboe will continue to have the exclusive rights to offer trading in its flagship S&P 500 Index options, the companies said, adding that they may also collaborate on new products including tokenized options contracts. Separately, Cboe said that there will be no impact on its 2026 royalty fee terms and that the updated royalty fee terms will begin in 2027. The company estimates the 2027 royalty fee terms will have a de minimis impact on its 2027 net revenue growth, when considered against organic and ecosystem-driven volume growth, pricing optimization, and continued business execution. Cboe will provide more specific 2027 organic total net revenue guidance in February along with its Q4 earnings, according to a statement. Shares of Cboe were up 10% in Tuesday premarket trading.
