Calian Group, Invest Ottawa Unveil Northstar Defence Lab to Boost Canadian Defense Capabilities

09:59 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Calian Group (CGY.TO) and Invest Ottawa have launched the Northstar Defence Lab, a facility where several defense industry players can gather to accelerate Canada's defense capabilities. The lab is located at Area X.O's Greenbelt site in Ottawa, providing a platform for Calian's partners, Canadian innovators, defense original equipment manufacturers and other stakeholders to share data, coordinate action and integrate systems, Calian said Tuesday. Calian said the lab is the first facility under its planned nationwide network of regional defense development labs.
