Live Nation, Ticketmaster Bid to Dismiss FTC Suit Denied

01:07 PM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The motion filed by Live Nation Entertainment (LYV) and its unit, Ticketmaster, to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the Federal Trade Commission and several states was denied Monday by a federal judge in California. In the suit, the plaintiffs accuse Live Nation and Ticketmaster of colluding with ticket brokers to drive up prices, according to court documents. Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong wrote in her ruling that this is not the stage of the lawsuit at which Live Nation and Ticketmaster can explain why the FTC's and the states' accusations are false. "At this stage, Live Nation and Ticketmaster are only arguing that even if everything the FTC and the states say in their lawsuit is true, none of that violates the laws referenced," the ruling said.
